Our Story
Soshanguve Vultures, which was formerly known as just “Vultures” is a football club which has for time immemorial been located in Block X Soshanguve.
The team was formerly founded by the late Abzela in the early 2000’s. It’s home ground was opposite Easy By Night (pub). It had senior and junior sides. The club produced players who went on to play for Kaizer Chiefs academy to mention a few. “Vultures” then ceased to participate in any competitive games due to complicated reasons just before 2006.
It was later indirectly revived in 2021 as Soshanguve Vultures Football Club by different stakeholders and had to find a different home and training ground as the previous ground was occupied and turned into informal settlements. Vultures and Soshanguve Vultures FC are legally different but conceptually they are the same as Soshanguve Vultures was formed with the idea to revive Vultures.
The team boast a lot of history and has moulded local football. It is a club full of significant heritage. Although, the new founders never requested permission to use the name. SVFC has went on to win the promotional league in the year 2023 and is now participating in the biggest league in Soshanguve.
